Halloween Embroidery Wall Hanging - Custom quilted

Just finished quilting this gorgeous wall hanging for Andi.  She took a class on how to color on fabric with crayons with embroidery and made this lovely pattern.  I personally love embroidery so this was fun to quilt.  The outer border is quilted with spiderwebs (harder to see in the photos).

Custom - spiderwebs

Once in a while I finish a project of my own!  This is a little overdue for a baby quilt for my cousin's new baby but I am really glad I finally got it done!  They have decorated his room with a super hero theme.  I chose Spider-man as he is one of my favorites.

This is my first time experimenting with spiderwebs, just in time for the upcoming fall season!!

Custom quilting - stipple with a little extra

My client wanted to teach her granddaughter how to quilt.  This is what they made:

The squares have the "little extra" with some swirligigs (not sure what to call them!)

Custom quilting - swirls, wishbones

It's taken me a little time to get my "swirls" down and I still need more practice!    They really are fun to quilt.  This is a small table topper I quilted for a client with swirls and wishbones!

One of my favorite things about quilting is hearing stories about how women get together in groups to make quilts for a purpose.  This is a quilt made for one woman getting married.  Many friends (near and far) were asked to make a quilt block for this wedding quilt, designed with notes, paint, flowers, beads, and other things that were representations of the friendships and memories.  Here is how it all came together….

Custom quilting on the "Big Bang"

It's really exciting to try new quilting techniques and have them turn out, (as long as you don't look too close)!

This is a gorgeous red/white quilt made by Ann.  Figuring out what to quilt is sometimes the hardest part of quilting and thankfully Ann is open to whatever I feel like quilting for her!  So…I made curved diamonds.  And RED thread….lovely stuff!

I love this pattern.  It's the "Big Bang", a quilt that many here locally have made in a class taught by Edie Walker.  (and I see I didn't flatten out the quilt all the way for this pic!)

Such a fun progression of fabrics!

I'm not perfect yet but learned a lot on this one.
