LOVE quilt!

It has been said that every quilt has a story. This is very true of this Love quilt.  A young couple got married in Hawaii last summer.  The day before the wedding, a group from the wedding party rented scooters to have some fun on the island.  Among the party was the groom.  A concerned bride told her soon-to-be husband to be very careful with anything he did.  Well, a few seconds on the scooter and a "Woo-hoo" and he  crashed the scooter.  You can imagine the rest of the story!

Good thing all was well with a few scratches, a bit of drama and some good teasing....

This is a pattern by Tula Pink, quilt made by Kathy, the bride's mom!

I stippled the whole quilt and practiced some custom swirls and pebbles in the letters.   If one looks closely at the stipple they may find a few words adding to the memory with the wedding date, "woo hoo",  Maui, and the couples name.  I love little touches like this!

I didn't get any photos of the back on this one but it is backed with minky.   And I have heard this quilt has been used for a bit of tug of war - everyone loves minky!!!  :)
This scooter fabric is so fun!
